PRODUCT DESIGN
PROCESS
FINDING ACCURACY
Once a general form is established and a design direction has been chosen, the next step in the process would be to create technical drawings based on the concept sketches. These CAD drawings are a great opportunity to find tight tolerances and determine how pieces of the design will begin to fit together.
These CAD drawings, created in Ashlar-Vellum Graphite, are the blueprints for both the 3D modeling and prototyping phases. It’s always been my philosophy to follow these drawings precisely and, if revisions are made during modelmaking, it’s important to update the technical drawings to reflect the new findings.
