PRODUCT DESIGN

PROCESS

SURVEY RESEARCH

User data is collected by talking to individuals about their experiences with products. The best ideas for innovation and improvement on usability often come from user studies.

RESEARCH IS ALWAYS STEP 1

The beginning phase of any design project starts with research. In order to design products, one must understand people in terms of what they want or need. Materials, ergonomics, functionality -- everything is dependent upon user input.

Research is carried out through analyzing the competition (what’s already on the market), studying the demographic , discovering new materials, and looking into the science of the product being developed. The big question is: What already exists, and how can we move beyond that?
